FindHealth Zimbabwe - Healthcare Directory Platform

Accessibility Statement

FindHealth is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all people, including those with disabilities, elderly patients, and those with varying levels of technical literacy

Our Commitment

Healthcare information should be accessible to everyone. We are continuously working to improve the accessibility and usability of FindHealth to ensure all patients, regardless of age, disability, or technical expertise, can find and connect with healthcare providers. We strive to adhere to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards.

WCAG 2.1 Compliance

FindHealth aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines ensure our healthcare directory is accessible to patients with disabilities, elderly users, and those with varying levels of technical literacy - ensuring equitable access to healthcare information.

Perceivable

Healthcare provider information, specializations, and medical aid acceptance must be presentable in ways all patients can perceive, including through screen readers and high-contrast modes

Operable

Provider search, filters, and contact forms must be operable through keyboard, mouse, touch, and voice commands to accommodate all patient needs

Understandable

Medical terminology, provider credentials, and platform instructions must be clear and understandable, avoiding unnecessary jargon

Robust

Platform must work reliably with current and future assistive technologies, ensuring long-term accessibility for patients with disabilities

Technical Specifications

FindHealth's accessibility relies on the following web technologies:

  • HTML5 - Semantic markup for proper provider information structure
  • WAI-ARIA - Accessible Rich Internet Applications attributes for healthcare provider listings and search filters
  • CSS - Responsive, accessible healthcare color scheme with high contrast
  • JavaScript - Progressive enhancement; core provider search works without JavaScript

FindHealth is designed to work with the following assistive technologies commonly used by patients:

  • Recent versions of major screen readers (JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Recent versions of major desktop browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge)
  • Recent versions of major mobile browsers (Safari on iOS, Chrome on Android)
  • Screen magnification software and browser zoom (up to 200%)
  • Voice control software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking, Voice Control)

Known Limitations

While we strive for full accessibility, some areas may have limitations:

  • Provider-uploaded content: Profile photos, clinic images, or documents uploaded by healthcare providers may not always meet accessibility standards. We encourage providers to use descriptive alt text and accessible formats.
  • Third-party integrations: Embedded maps showing clinic locations or external booking systems may have their own accessibility limitations beyond our control.
  • Medical documents: Some provider-submitted medical documents or credentials may be in non-accessible formats. We are working with providers to convert these to accessible formats.

We are actively working with healthcare providers to address these limitations and improve accessibility across all aspects of FindHealth. Patient access to healthcare information is our priority.
